As much as you don’t like the sound of it, this is one of the oldest tricks in the books and any experienced diver will tell you that it’s amongst the most effective ones as well.
It’s simple – as your masks starts to fog, you should get to the surface, pull off your mask and spit into it. You can use a towel to get the mask dried up and then perform the aforementioned procedure – it should take you more than a few seconds.
2. Use Defogging Drops or Sprays

You can use a regular product for defogging that you can easily pick up in the majority of specialty diving stores, or online here, here and here – they are not expensive. Spray it and rub it with your fingers in the same way we described it in the previous method.
Once you are done, you can easily rinse the defogger out of the mask. In order to do so, you can use fresh or saltwater – it doesn’t really matter. The important thing is to make sure that you don’t allow the defogger to get in your eyes – it’s as simple as that.
3. Use Toothpaste
